Vacuity asked my to give a wee explaination of what this was all about.

Jacks or better VP has a pretty low house edge and you have the chance to win big from it.

Hitting a royal fhlush can give you 800-1000 or more* your bet so you can find yourself winning 1000£ for something that has a really small house edge.

It is a simple game to learn and the basic strategy is also pretty easy.

Have a look at the strategy guide for simple strategy on wizard of odds. You can save .02% or so by employing more sophisticated strategy but with a good payout table you should still be facing a .955 house edge so it is pretty small to begin with.

JoB uses normal poker hands but only pays out for a pair of Jacks or better and other higher ranking hands.

here is a quick run down of the hands in poker

a) bust hand/ high card - this is a hand with no flush (5 cards the same suit), no straight (5 cards in sequence), no pair or three of a kind
b) pair is 2 cards of the same number eg 88452 or JJA42 remember that a pair of 10s doesnt score in this game it needs to be JJ, QQ, KK or AA
c) 2 pair (2 pairs e.g. aa552) - 44558 etc
d) three of a kind e.g. JJJ24
e) straight a2345, akqj10 or 45678 remember that 32456 is the same as 23456 ie they need to be 5 cards that could be rearranged in sequence to form 5 in a row with no gaps but they can be in different suits
f) flush - 5 cards in same suit i.e. 2c3c6c8c9c
g) full house a three of a kind and a pair in the same hand eg 66888
h)4 of a kind eg aaaa5
i) straight flush 5 cards in the same suit in sequence eg ac2c3c4c5c
j) royal flush AKQJ10 of 1 suit

in Jacks or better you get dealt a hand and then can change as many cards as you want and hold the rest. After you change some cards you get some replacements and then you score the hand

example if you are dealt Ac6c5c2dAh you would hold onto the two aces and change everything else. If you are playing multihand JoB then you would get several hands with aaxxx with the three x's being different in each of the hands you would get.

generally speaking you will keep a pair if you have it and will rarely chase to more than 1 card (3 to royal flush being the main exception i.e 10sksas)

What to bear in mind with Jacks or Better
a) Whilst the house edge is small varience is high 3% or so of your profits are tied into winning a royal flush which wont happen very often as it is really unlikely. Other big payouts for straight flushes and 4 of a kings also wont happen too often
b) watch the payout table often you wont get proper payouts for royal flushes etc - if you dont then dont pay there 250* bet is rubbish for a royal. You may find you need to play maximum bet to get a proper return for hitting a royal flush
c) often you will play multiple hands at once - this adds to the variance but does enable you to play hands at smallish values (.05) etc and still get big wins when you hit something big at the start
d) many bonuses exclude JoB so read the terms and conditions before you play also you need to beware of maximum payouts a payout of 2* deposit isnt great where you are likely to finish with less than you started much of the time and the extra gain from the *1000 wins will be greatly minimised.
