It is my intension to try to get some winningstart casino tournaments off the ground or at least tournaments with a winningstart flavour (and extra money for winningstart members). I think they would be great fun, a chance to bring casino bettors and tournament poker players together and a chance for Winningstart to add some $$$ to the prize pool. Many of the skills for playing tournament poker will transfer over to these other tournaments and it will be a good way of helping tournament poker players hone their tournament skills.

Tournament Casino games take two main forms - the first in my view are not strictly tournament although they are called such and certainly have their own special requirements of skill. These games exist within the normal casino set up but whoever gets the most proft that hour/day/week etc gets some bonuses. These still have elements that make them distinct from normal online casino betting.

The second group are exactly the same as online poker tournaments ie. you pay your money and you get your buy-in's worth of chips. Whilst there might be rebuys you can bust out etc. These can be heads up or against many thousands of people with everything inbetween.

I wish there was just one site that I could refer you to but unfortunately there is not. Neither is there a site that effectively has all aspects of online casino Tournaments. This is a growing area of Internet gaming and it is a way for skill to really affect the outcome in casino play and possibly give you the edge.

For slots tournaments of all shapes and forms Starluck Casino is clearly the master. They are one of the best Casino sites generally with one of the easiest and simplest bonuses to clear, excellent support staff, a nice feel and a quality gaming experience. As well as big tournaments they have sit and goes either heads up or with multiple opponents. They tournaments are proper tournaments and well worth giving a try.

For Blackjack, http://www.global-player.com (http://www.global-player.com/?gai=101044) are the best for real tournaments qwhere you are directly competing against other players. In fact they are the only ones at the moment for regular games in this format. Well worth checking out.

Another possibility for those not very interested in risking or winning a lot of money is http://www.skillgaming.casino.co.uk/main.do. This is doing to blackjack what duplicate bridge does to well, bridge. What this means is that everyone is dealt the same cards and it is all about who makes the most of them. I cannot say I am entirely convinced by this but it does sound intriging and i would be interested to hear some feed back from those who have tried it. They do also have freerolls (for those who deposit) and plenty of other skill games such as gin rummy and 8 ball pool for you to play as well though. Might be fun.

There are a couple of other players worth mentioning including 9am.com and intercasino. Both of these have frequent big events of various forms of casino tournaments so if diversity is your thing they may well be worth a shout. Intercasino has some Baccarat tournaments. Baccarat tournaments have most of the excitement of a poker tournament without the skill. That is not to say that there is no skill in these games but merely that those who really enjoy tournament poker but haven't quite mastered poker should really give these a look in.

There are others dabbling in this field and i will give you a fuller report in time of which sites are the best for tournaments that are not "proper" tournaments but in which there are prizes to be won.

If anyone sees any good tournaments or sites for casino tournaments though I am sure we would all like to know.

played in my first sng blackjack game on global.

the way these work is a) you start with 1000 chips
b) you play 15 hands in a multiplayer game - you play against the same dealer hands etc

1st gets 2/3rds of the money and 2nd gets 1/3rd

I can second and would have been first if the last hand had gone differently (I would have been 2nd most of the time). It took someone doubling on a 14 (dealer 7) for me to be overtaken.

click here (http://www.global-player.com/?gai=101044) to give it a try. Be warned though outwith the scheduled tournaments there can be a wee wait for a game to go ahead.
